Gootessa Cheese

We now carry Goot Tessa whole milk, farmstead cheese produced in the Amish country of Central Pennsylvania. The cheese is cut, hooped and pressed by hand to ensure quality at every step of the process. This process produces creamy, full-flavored cheeses with a soft white curd. No artificial colors or preservatives are added.

Goot Essa is a cooperation of plain Pennsylvania dairy farmers who have banded together to sell milk as cheese. Their cheese and other products are made with the same ingredients and intense care that they've provided for themselves.

They have chosen to work their fields in the traditional way. Their farms are small, but each acre and each animal is cared for with love and respect for the ways of nature. Theirs are true family farms where each member of the family has chores and contributes to the good of the fam and the community.

Their goal is to offer products made from the freshest, highest quality, all natural ingredients. They want to offer you down to earth goodness with real flavor, the old-fashioned way with individual attention that makes a purchase for your table or a gift so much more meaningul.

In the German language, "Goot Essa" means "good food" or "good eating." They hope their guests enjoy their meals, so they wish everyone "goot essa" before eating. Taking the Goot Essa name for the group symbolizes their wish to share their love of good, old-fashioned country-style food with everyone.

Goot Essa Cheese flavors:

• Old German Weissa Kase - The best cheese. A creamy cheese with a rich, yet mild flavor. For the true cheese lover, guaranteed to be the best.
• Minced Garlic Cheddar - Delicious cheddar with the real pieces of minced garlic. A hint of spring in every bite.
• Mountain Valley Sharp Cheese - Aged for at least three years. Good in soups, salads, sandwiches and cut for snacks.
• Mountain Home Woodsmoked Cheddar - A mild cheddar witha hickory smoked flavor. Just right on crackers.
• Garden Peppar Jack - Minced garden jalapeno peppers make this a spicy treat. It's new to Goot Tessa, but a favorite among the Amish.
